Wooden Sculpture, Handmade Byzantine Hagiography.

The Apostle Peter was originally from Bethsaida of Galilee and was a fisherman by profession. When Christ arrived at the lake of Gennesaret he met Peter and his brother Apostle Andrew and invited them to become His disciples. After the Ascension of Jesus, he taught the Gospel in many areas such as Pontus, Cappadocia, and Antioch. He witnessed death in Rome in 64 AD. by the Crucifixion, when Nero was emperor.
Apostle Paul was born in Tarsus of Cilicia and was originally a fierce warrior of Christianity. His conversion came when Christ was revealed to him and received holy baptism. He was the most important preacher of the Gospel and founder of the Greek Church. He was found martyred in Rome by beheading between 64 and 67 AD.
Fragments of St. Peter's Holy Relics are found in the Monasteries of Iberos and Panteleimon of Mount Athos. A fragment of St. Paul's Holy Relics is in the Monastery of Mount Athos.

The Orthodox Christian Church commemorates their 29th anniversary.
